When Apple introduced the new Silicon M chips, it raised the bar for what an entry-level computer was capable of accomplishing. The entry-level (and previous generation) M1 Macbook Air would normally set you back a solid G, but it's currently on clearance at Amazon for $799.
This featherweight machine is capable of handling anything Final Draft can throw at it, and the 8GB of ram utilizes the M1's new architecture to actively swap memory with the 256GB SSD.
What's that mean? It might not be able to completely replace a dedicated multimedia machine five years down the line, but if you need an easy-to-carry work computer, this is a solid choice and cheaper than ever.
